The Microtech Booster Relaunches — New Activities, New Ambition, New Name: Welcome to the CoBooster

After several months of intensive work to envision the future of the Microtech Booster following the end of Innosuisse funding, we are very pleased to finally present the next chapter of this program: the CoBooster, a non-profit association.

Thanks to Innosuisse, we funded 45 innovation ideas between 2021 and 2024 — a journey we’re proud of.
Now, we move forward without Innosuisse, driven by the commitment of our members and partners.

Thank you to our steering committee Eric Schnyder (CEO of Sylvac), Christophe Saam (CEO of P&TS), Martin Forrer (CTO of Fisba), Fabian Käser (CEO of Ctrl-alt-del), and Joëlle Tosetti for the operational lead — for building this new association, and to all contributors who supported our crowdfunding campaign (CHF 22,605 raised to date).

What’s new in 2025

1. Expansion into new fields of innovation

The CoBooster now extends far beyond microtechnology to include key topics such as:
a. Responsible industry and the sustainable transition
b. Smart automation and collaborative AI
c. Advanced manufacturing technologies and enabling tech
d. Agile organization and shared resources
e. Intellectual property strategy
f. Business and management

2. Launch of a patent marketplace – Starting May 9

Have dormant patents? Give them a second life:

• Offer them under a simple or exclusive license

• Sell them directly or propose co-development
  The platform provides a secure environment with legal support and IP guidance

Put your patents to work:

• Unlock unused intellectual property

• Give other Swiss actors access to your technologies

• Benefit from tech transfer support, if needed

3. A more flexible model for more opportunities

The Microtech Booster operated on a fixed calendar with deadlines to submit ideas and express interest.
The CoBooster introduces a hybrid model that’s more flexible and responsive:

• Fixed idea rounds with set deadlines remain in place to structure the collective dynamic.
  👉 Next loop (Loop 9):
   – May 29: Deadline to submit ideas, challenges or patents
   – July 5: Deadline to join teams; feasibility studies will run in H2 2025
• But now, you can also submit ideas, patents, or join a project at any time. If a full team is formed, the project starts right away.

This new system is designed to accelerate connections, enable faster collaboration, and reduce the time from idea to project launch.

A prize for the best project

To celebrate this new chapter, P&TS will award CHF 2,000 to the top project of Loop 9, along with IP support during the kick-off or feasibility wrap-up.

• July 3, 2025: Deadline to join teams

New Business Model

Access to the platform remains free for all.

1. Posting an idea/challenge/patent costs CHF 500 for companies
    → Fully refunded if the project is launched (min 1000 CHF of pledges to start)
    → Free for public R&D institutions⚠️ Special offer until May 20: post your idea for just CHF 200 — after this date, the regular fee of CHF 500 will apply. Your contribution helps keep the platform running and accessible.

2. A 10% commission is charged on each project launched.
    Patent monetization (sale or license) is discussed case-by-case.

3. Want greater impact, support, and visibility?

   Join the CoBooster Association:
    – CHF 2,000/year for standard membership: join the General Assembly, gain visibility, and post up to 5 ideas per year at no additional cost.
    – CHF 5,000/year for premium membership: enjoy all standard benefits, plus 15–20 hours of project support (coaching, strategy, matchmaking), and your logo featured on the website and platform for enhanced visibility

   Or stay as a supporting member for CHF 200/year, with the advantage of publishing one idea/year (normal price 500CHF/idea)
