The Microtech Booster: Four Years of Collaborative Innovation Serving Switzerland’s Microtechnology Industry
Launched in 2021 under the initiative of Innosuisse, the Microtech Booster has been much more than just an innovation support program.
Over four years, this CHF 2 million initiative succeeded in mobilizing more than 650 stakeholders from industry, universities of applied sciences, and associations around a common goal: to foster innovative ideas and transform them into high-potential projects.
Thanks to a dynamic online ideation platform and an original selection process — based on open calls for ideas and a “consortium bidding” mechanism — 45 collaborative projects were funded, involving nearly 245 partners across Switzerland.
A Proven Platform — and One That Deserves to Continue
Although Innosuisse’s funding ended in December 2024, we firmly believe that the Microtech Booster’s journey should not stop here.
Driven by the momentum and achievements of these four years, we have developed a new independent economic model, with a low barrier to entry, designed to extend and amplify this dynamic.
We aim to broaden the thematic scope to better address current and future challenges of Swiss industry, while preserving the Booster’s core DNA: co-creation, impact, agility, and trust.
This is how the Collaboration Booster is born.
After four impactful years with the Microtech Booster, we embraced a self-sustaining economic model, ready to welcome new themes such as enabling technologies, sustainability, healthcare, and mobility.
Our ambition: to broaden our reach while staying true to our core values of collaboration, agility, and openness.
Why continue?
Because the challenges ahead are complex and demanding.
Because our industry needs talent, cross-disciplinary approaches, and spaces for experimentation.
Because we have proven that this model works — creating value that is human, scientific, and economic.
